Second year LEAP graduate student Danielle Baker was recently named a Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) Doctoral Scholar. This is a program geared toward improving diversity in the academy, by providing funding for doctoral students from underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds. In addition to increasing her funding for the next few years, the SREB program provides significant mentorship on how to succeed in the academy, including paid-for attendance a yearly Institute on Teaching and Mentoring.  You rock, Danielle!
